- Full coverage of our Arrive Alive campaign
POLICE minister Liza Harvey was at West Busselton Primary School on Wednesday for the launch of the regional road safety campaign.
The campaign was launched in the lead up to Easter with the #HeadsUp the focus.
The slogan will also serve as a #HeadsUp warning to motorists this Easter that WA Police will be targeting the unsafe driving behaviours which contribute to road trauma.
Ms Harvey spoke to year 6 students at the school about the importance of staying safe on the roads this Easter.
"You have to make sure your parents are doing the right thing and keeping their eyes on the road," she said.
Ms Harvey told the students that they needed to help the police by becoming deputies themselves over the long weekend.
She said double demerit points start from midnight Wednesday.
Ms Harvey's regional launch of the campaign was in conjunction with police commissioner Karl O’Callaghan's launch in Perth.
During Ms Harvery's visit to Busselton she also met with Busselton police officer in charge senior sergeant Steve Principe.
She was also guest speaker at a Women in Leadership Breakfast hosted by Vasse MP Libby Mettam.
As part of Fairfax WA Arrive Alive campaign Karl O'Callaghan will be part of a live chat from 2pm Wednesday, see here for more.
