A SHEARING shed, a variety of mediums and a love for the Australian context are some of the elements that join together to create Dee Credaro’s break out exhibition ‘From the Bucket List’.
“I was almost about to call the exhibition the colours of my life, as that’s what it is, my life,” Credaro said.
As part of the region’s Open Studios event, Credaro will be opening up their family’s working shearing shed to the public where her creations and life style will be on display for all to see.
Walking into the shearing space, paintings hang around the rustic interior, in areas Credaro dubbed ‘prime real estate’.
“A lot of cleaning has been done here,” Credaro laughed.
The common theme of Australiana echoes throughout the works where despite their different styles, each image is connected by Credaro’s nod to home.
“I get bored and I need to switch things up,” Credaro said.
“There’s something for everyone.”
It all started for Credaro when she was pregnant with her first child, beginning to create upon the insistence of her mother who had a way with art.
She joined the Dunsborough Art Society and then later the Busselton Art Society, finding pastels to be her calling card for the time being.
Now moving between mediums at her leisure, Credaro uses whatever she feels will create images that explore her love of the South West.
Inspired by photographs for current times and those past, Credaro adapts the images to blend into a bright Australian environment.
“All have stories attached to them,” Credaro said.
Having spent the last year creating at an immense rate, Credaro is excited to share with the community some of the special elements of her life.
Credaro thanked her husband Wayne, who she said she couldn’t have done without.
The exhibition runs every day except Thursdays from April 11-27 from 10am-4pm at 142 Wildwood Road, Carbunup River.
