FOR the second year in a row the Drug Aware Margaret River Pro will be granting special access to a group of locals.
Last year 15 people aged nine to 40 with varying disabilities were given a rare behind the scenes tour of the event.
A senior Pro staff member led the tour and showed them the surf judges booth, the surfer's lounge area, media area, and they had a chance to stand on the podium.
They met some high profile surfers including legend Tom Carroll who took time to hang out with them.
The Margaret River Recreation Centre helped with the program and Kristi Head said it was the highlight of their year.
The Recreation Centre has got another group of 15 to have the same experience.
Surfing WA chief executive officer Mark Lane said it was another way the Pro was reaching and embracing the local community - providing a special experience to those with disabilities.
