The rumour mill is aflurry that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are adding to their brood, although comment from Pitt's representative suggests it isn't meant to be.
Despite reports that the Hollywood couple would be adopting a child from wartorn Syria, a representative for Pitt has denied this is the case, telling the Daily Mail that the number of children in the Jolie-Pitt family would remain at six.
The story started when a "business associate" told the Sunday Express the Jolie-Pitts were looking to add a ninth member to their family.
The source, who claims to have known the couple for more than a decade, told the publication Jolie, 39, was looking to expand her family after having her ovaries removed following the discovery of a genetic mutation associated with breast and ovarian cancer.
"She has been moved to tears on several occasions over the plight of youngsters orphaned in the Syrian conflict," the source said.
"Now she has sorted out her health issues, she and Brad believe the time is right to adopt another orphan from there, most likely a daughter."
This isn't the first time there has been speculation the couple would adopt from wartorn Syria.
In February, a Woman's Day story gained international attention after it claimed the couple were adopting a two-year-old Syrian boy named Moussa.
The story claimed Jolie met Moussa in her role as a special envoy of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and was planning to adopt him after extensive checks proved he was an orphan.
The story came shortly after Jolie wrote an op-ed for the New York Times titled "A New Level of Refugee Suffering" in which the actress said she had visited refugee camps in Iraq five times and conditions had recently become substantially worse.
"What do you say to a mother with tears streaming down her face who says her daughter is in the hands of the Islamic State, or ISIS, and that she wishes she were there, too?" she wrote.
"Even if she had to be raped and tortured, she says, it would be better than not being with her daughter."
The Jolie-Pitts have six children: Maddox, 13, Pax, 11, Zahara, 10, Shiloh, 8, and six-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne.
Three of the couple's children were adopted from orphanages in developing nations.
Jolie adopted a then seven-month-old Maddox in Cambodia as a single mother in 2002, before splitting from actor Billy Bob Thornton three months later.
After meeting Jolie, Pitt adopted Maddox in 2006 and the couple subsequently adopted a then six-month-old Zahara from an orphanage in Ethiopia.
Pax, who was three at the time, joined the family from an orphanage in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, in 2007.
It has been 10 years since Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's romance was confirmed.
The Mr and Mrs Smith co-stars were outed as a couple by Us Weekly, who published pictures of the couple holidaying with Maddox in Kenya in April 2005.
The couple married nine years later, in a secret ceremony at the couple's home in the south of France.
