QUEENSLAND booked a place in the AFL Youth Girls Championships grand final on Tuesday after securing a big win against Western Australia.
Queensland was in full control for the entire game running out 31-point winners, 6.9 (45) to 2.2 (14).
A positive to come out of the game in a local sense was Peel Thunderbirds’ team member Jessica Fenton being named in the best for WA.
Queensland will now play Vic Metro in the grand final after already defeating Vic Country in the championships on Monday.
Vic Metro has also defeated Vic Country, 8.5 (53) to 3.0 (18), and WA, 7.6 (48) to 6.2 (38), in the competition.
The two sides will play a preview to the grand final on Thursday at 12.15pm.
It has been a disappointing carnival for WA who was aiming to win back-to-back championships after defeating Vic Metro in the grand final last year.
WA will now play Vic Country, the other winless side, on Thursday at 4pm.
