POLICE have issued a warrant for the arrest of a 59-year-old man over the alleged wilful murder of Mandurah teen Hayley Dodd.
Special Crime Squad detectives announced the arrest warrant on Monday afternoon.
Police allege the man abducted Hayley, 17, as she was walking along North West Road in Badgingarra on July 29, 1999.
They also allege the man murdered her and disposed of her body.
This follows reports of cold case officers working for two years to gather evidence in the case.
Before Hayley disappeared, she had walked from Dongara and intended to stay at a friend's farm about 20 kilometres from Badgingarra.
She never reached her destination.
Hayley’s mother Margaret last year appealed for anyone with information about her daughter’s disappearance to come forward.
She asked people in and around Badgingarra to search their properties for items that may have belonged to Hayley.
Detectives are still seeking information about the whereabouts of Hayley’s remains and anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
