TRIUMPH was written on the faces of the August Margaret River women’s soccer team on Sunday when they left the field victorious in their game against Busselton.
After two years of big defeats at their hands, the AMR team kicked off the game with a strong lead.
Busselton began to fight back, but they were no match for the united force of the home side.
The girls shone, communicating well across the field and finding space, leaving Busselton goal attempts an unlikely option.
Strong drives from Evie Koster and Lindsay Sesin towards goals were supported by the rest of the team with a man on man strategy.
Despite a resurgence in the Busselton goals in the late second half, it proved too little too late with AMR taking out the well deserved 5-3 win.
