Halls Head College’s $40 million upgrade is on track for a end of year completion date, with one of their new two-storey buildings now open.
The building, which opened at the beginning of term, houses the school’s new science labs and technology and enterprise areas, and comes complete with state-of-the-art equipment.
“We’re talking about industry quality facilities,” principal Bronwyn White said.
“For a school to have this and provide students with industry quality equipment, it adds a whole new dimension to their learning.”
Once finished, the renovations will finalise the college’s transition from a middle school to a year seven to 12 high school.
Ms White said the upgrades were made to improve all of the schools learning areas, making it one of the best equipped schools in the state.
“From the point of view of the school, it’s very exciting to have the facilities catch-up with the student population,” she said.
“The amazing facilities now match the breadth and depth of the teachers.”
