MARGARET RIVER had its hottest August day on record in 2015, beating the previous best from 2006.
The temperature reached 22.7 degrees on Sunday, August 16 was warmer than the 22.1 degrees recorded on August 29, 2006.
The average temperature last month of 17.0 degrees was also a new August record with the long-term average beign 16.8 degrees.
Data from the Bureau of Meterology's Witchcliffe recording station shows the nights in August 2015 were colder than average at 7.6 degrees compared to the long-term average of 8.2 degrees.
But the coldest night of 2.7 degrees on August 5 was nowhere near the all-time record August minimum of just 0.5 degrees recorded on August 29, 2004.
There were 128.8 millimetres of rainfall in the gauge across August 2015 with two falls of 18 millimetres.
This figure was below the long-term August average of 148.9 millimetres.
This week coming the Bureau of Meterology is predicting partly cloudy conditions on Thursday before a possible storm on Friday and showers across the weekend.
While in Augusta, the Bureau of Meteorology is predicting similarly wet conditions.
