THE 46 kilometre Cape to Cape track provided adventure, leadership, team building skills and resilience for 25 youths at the start of October.
The trek was across four days as part of the Augusta Margaret River Shire’s youth engagement program.
The young ones were from the shire as well City of Busselton and stopped at Contos Campground, Boranup Campground and Hamelin Bay.
Shire of Augusta Margaret River community development trainee Molly Ryan said the trek had lots of challenges including bull ants, bees, beach hikes and hills.
“The highlights were the new friendships made, strength gained, and the great sense of achievement we felt we when crossed the finish line,” she said.
The participants also enjoyed a kayak on the Margaret River, swimming at the beach and a game of stealth in Giants Cave.
The Cape to Cape youth hike was subsidised through the WA Police’s Strategic Crime Prevention Unit.
