MARGARET River Tennis Club is staging a pink-themed Free Tennis Day to raise money for the Breast Cancer Network Australia on October 10.
All money raised through the event will go directly to BCNA to help ensure Australians affected by breast cancer receive the best support, information, treatment and care.
With more than 15,000 women in Australia expected to be diagnosed with breast cancer this year, the pink-themed Free Tennis Day is a chance for the local tennis community to raise awareness of the support services available.
The community is urged to head down to Margaret River Tennis Club and make a racquet on Saturday as part of the national Free Tennis Days campaign.
Tennis regulars and those who have never picked up a racquet are invited to dress in pink and head to the club between 2 and 5.30pm to enjoy free activities including ANZ Tennis Hot Shots, Cardio Tennis, free coaching, face painting, bouncy castle, BBQ, prizes and more.
Clubs running a Free Tennis Day will earn points for their town to secure a maindraw player to represent them at Australian Open 2016.
Kendall (NSW) took the top spot on the town leaderboard last year for a second year running and chose world No.1 Novak Djokovic (SRB) to represent their town during Australian Open 2015.
