A recent survey of tourists by travel website HotelsCombined has judged River'esque Hotel in Margaret River to best place to stay in Australia.
The website’s Stellar Stays competition took millions of traveller ratings from across the nation to put together a list to recognise the highest standards in the hospitality industry.
Placing first in both Western Australia and Australia, River'esque Hotel was the only one to receive a perfect 10 out of 10 rating.
River'esque Hotel hosts Rob and Di Conneeley said it was a great honour to top the list.
“We have endeavoured to provide a unique, tranquil and peaceful space for guests and believe that it is important to treat those who stay with us with respect,” Mrs Conneeley said.
“We enjoy catering to their needs and providing guests with special touches like fresh flowers, candles and breakfast goodies to enjoy.”
The couple have run the Balinese-inspired self-contained chalet for the past 15 years.
In WA, Broome Town Bed and Breakfast placed second with Burns Beach Bed and Breakfast rounding out the top three.
Five of the top 10 accommodation locations in Western Australia were bed and breakfasts.
HotelsCombined spokesperson Alberto Castellucchio said the Stellar Stay awards recognise accommodation providers that consistently achieve the highest standard of customer satisfaction.
“The team at HotelsCombined undertook the largest analysis of customer opinions online across millions of points of data,” he said.
“Winners were selected using strict criteria such as quality and consistency of reviews, the absence of recurring or unsolved issues and their popularity.”
