THE RAC Rescue Helicopter has airlifted a man out of the Waroona fire zone with burns to his back as a result of the Waroona bushfire.
He was later transported to Peel Health Campus by ambulance.
The helicopter was sent to Waroona at about 2.30pm on Thursday where paramedics assessed the man, in his 20s, before taking the individual to the hospital.
The man was involved in fighting the fire but it is not clear if he is a was a volunteer or with DFES.
A spokesperson from Peel Health Campus said the man's injuries were being assessed and although he had received burns, the extent of his injuries at this stage were unknown.
