A LIFELONG passion for art is the drive behind local artist Jazelle Lawrance’s works, which will be on show at the Margaret River Cultural Centre Foyer Gallery throughout the month of February.
Ms Lawrence only began making art last September, but said her love of art stemmed from a long line of talent throughout her family.
“I’ve got cousins and other relatives who are all really talented and well-known,” she said.
“I’ve always loved art but I only recently made the decision to start doing it as a profession.”
Ms Lawrance claims her inspiration comes from her home, the South West.
“Our local landscapes really inspire me,” she said.
“The beaches, lakes and forests are all great works of art.”
Ms Lawrance specialises in fluid art by bringing together acrylic, ink and resin to form a unique piece.
The exhibition is her first solo event, and the 34-year-old described it as an exciting moment.
“I’m really excited to hear the feedback people have on the pieces on display,” she said.
“A lot of my work is quite abstract so hopefully they find something that is quite unique to them.”
Her works can also be viewed at the Margaret River Brewhouse.
The exhibition at the Cultural Centre will run until Wednesday, February 24.
