FUELED by affection for his local region, Margaret River artist Adam Stanley will be exhibiting his South West-inspired creations at Yallingup’s Ngilgi Caves Gallery.
His textured, acrylic seascapes featured on abstract pieces such as surfboards and corrugated iron will be on show.
Mr Stanley said he drew his inspiration from the South West’s surrounding oceans.
“Those turquoise colours and beautiful beaches are unique to our region, so it’s great to be able to showcase them through art,” he said.
“I often have people who are foreign to the South West comment on the works.”
Mr Stanley has been creating art full-time for 10 years now, but said it had been a passion of his even as a young child.
“I’ve been drawing since I was about six years old and painting since 11,” he said.
“I would have given up by now if it wasn’t a pure passion of mine.”
He said showcasing his art to locals was a proud moment.
“I’ve had about six or seven solo exhibitions before this, but it’s always really nice to share it with local people,” he said.
“It’s extremely rewarding when people come up and complement the work and say they appreciated it.”
The exhibition will be on display throughout the month of April.
