WILYABRUP brewery Black Brewing Co has joined forces with musician Jason Neptune (aka Jason Strugarek) to establish a weekly live music night, with part proceeds to be donated to regional charity groups.
“The idea formed when the venue wanted to set up a regular live music spot on Saturday nights, and we thought that it would be a good way for people to have a good time and support something they care about,” Neptune said.
Musicians and bands are invited to play at the Caves Road venue on Saturday evenings, with 5% of all bar takings between 7pm and midnight donated to a charity selected by the performers.
“There are lots of places to play and enjoy live music around the area, which is great,” Neptune said.
“The idea behind this is giving people an alternative that does some good at the same time,”
The brewery shares a location with its sister-outfit Samson + Bowen at the site last occupied by the Duckstein Brewery before the new operation began in 2015.
Neptune said musicians are welcome to submit their choice of charity or he can assist with suggestions for worthy local causes.
The first Live Music Fundraiser at Black Brewing Co will be held on Saturday 14 May from 7pm featuring music from Salt Tree and Bella Blakemore.
