Margaret River Rotary has joined forces with local business Lazarus Landscape Supplies to provide a much needed makeover of a home occupied by adults living with disabilities.
The Riverslea property is managed by Life Without Barriers and along with the three adult occupants with physical and intellectual disabilities, the home is also supported by around the clock carers.
Earlier this month, after being approached to help with the overgrown and untidy garden, Rotary members and helpers arrived at the property to relocate a large fence.
The following day the team was back again, positioning raised garden beds and filling them with soil donated by Lazarus supplies. A general tidy up of the garden completed the job and the residents were once again able to enjoy their outdoor space.
Now that the garden has been returned to a usable state, the residents of the home will have the chance to plant, weed and care for the plants before harvesting and eating produce from their very own gardens.
