THE Margaret River Netball Association was thrilled to host renowned former national netballer and coach Jill McIntosh for two coaching clinics last week.
As part of the association’s rebuilding phase, the club is currently under the mentorship of Ian Crawford from the Department of Sport and Recreation to support the volunteer opportunities to receive best practice support for players and coaches. There is nobody like Jill McIntosh to provide such guidance.
Using the Margaret River 11-16 year old development squad players, Jill put the girls through their paces while demonstrating her coaching techniques to coaches from Margaret River and surrounding towns.
Of the MRNA playing group, Chloe Daniels, Wheatley Hunter and Summah Franchi are training and competing as part of the South West Netball Academy.
Everyone gained invaluable insights from Jill and now coaches and players are eager to test their new skills and knowledge in the much-anticipated 2013 netball season.
Nominations for next year’s competition will be called on early next year.
