The Farmhouse Margaret River has been named one of WA’s top food producers in the 2016 delicious State Produce Awards.
Lauded for their famed Arkady Lamb, The Farmhouse was one of five to receive a nod in the ‘From the Paddock’ category.
Manager Tom Hayward said the recognition was important to the wider Margaret River and South West region in gaining support for locally sourced produce.
“It’s not just about us, it’s having the whole region recognised as producing really good quality, sustainable food,” Mr Hayward said.
Farm House brand manager David Hohnen stressed the importance of long term relationships between farmers and producers.
“So much of the story is about the beautiful stock we source from the Houghton family, the weight of that connection cannot be overstated,” Mr Hohnen said.
Augusta-based Ocean Grown Abalone was named a state winner for their premium greenlip abalone. The 2016 National delicious Produce Awards will be announced in September.
