The Margaret River Rowing Club will host an open day this Sunday November 13 from 11am to 2pm.
Locals are invited to visit the club, test the equipment, bring a picnic and try an Olympic sport at the Club’s boatshed on the Margaret River. All rowing clubs in WA will participate in the Rowing WA Open Day initiative, coinciding with the newly reformed local group calling for new members and starting regular club days over Summer.
Club President Ben Aitken says the Open Day is a good opportunity for people to get to know the club and use the equipment. “We’re all about getting more people out on the river. We have a range of rowing, kayaking and Stand Up Paddle boarding equipment available to members.
“Club Days for members begin next week, where the club will open for people to enjoy the sport and familiarize themselves with the equipment,” he said.
Those attending can access the Club by following signs heading west on Wallcliffe Rd after Wooditch Rd. The club can be contacted via margaretriverrowingclub@gmail.com
