The State Government announced on Thursday that the Margaret River Senior High School campus would receive $30 million in upgrades to increase the school’s capacity to 1200 students by 2020.
New classrooms and high quality specialist facilities are included in the plan, which features a double storey building housing 16 classrooms and a staff study.
A science building boasting five laboratories, and a sports and recreation centrqq3e also form part of the upgrades.
Education Minister Peter Collier said the popularity of the school was apparent by the overflowing existing facilities.
"Margaret River Senior High School has become increasingly popular, and transportable classrooms have been required to cater for this surge in demand," Mr Collier said.
A second stage of the development would increase administration facilities and would see the relocation of sporting hard courts as well as additional student services buildings constructed.
The upgrades are expected to be completed in time for the beginning of the 2020 school year.
