As tourist season is approaching there has been an influx in international visitors to enjoy our green fairways.
The perfect place to get up and close to a kangaroo or two. Competition season is drawing to a close for some. The veterans played a 9 hole stableford, won by Niall Carey on a count back from Alan Dale. Peter Brennan came third. Their last game will be played next week followed by a sumptuous Christmas lunch. The ladies took to the course for their last 18 holes Stableford with a bit of fun. It was red against blue or President team against Captain’s. The Reds played best and won the day by 7 points. Barbara Webster came first in the Captain’s team with 35 on a count back from Penny Foy. Maggi Foy from the red team was top woman of the day with 40.
The boys competed in the second round of the Cowaramup Agencies Scroungers Stableford. Congratulations go to Nick Bull scoring 45 points. Brent Burton on second place with 42, followed by Clint Mc Gregor (40).
The Friday mixed 9-holers enjoyed a great day of golf playing their second last game of the year. Irish Matthew O’Farrell just pipped Cathy Carroll, Sarah Roddy, George Ruthledge and Jo Pyatt on a count back, all scoring 17. Jeff Hedstrom and Dave Coates sponsored the Saturday Mens Stableford which was won by Club Captain Ian Chidgey (41). John Bell came second (38) and Mal Gray third (37) on a count back.
The golf week ended on a high note with the annual Berry Farm 2 Ball Ambrose, a fun golf day for the novice and experienced golfer. Always attracting a large field of golfers, probably due to the delicious curry provided after the game. The day was won by the Presidents team: David Reid, Dave Noske, Barry Granville and Stuart Currell on a count back from the M-team: Megan Booth, Mark Bonnette, Mick Herbert and Micko O’Hara both scoring 55.5.
It is perfect golf weather. Our course welcomes all visitors, locals, interstate and international. A variety of membership is available – a great Christmas present.
