On Sunday, the Margaret River Horsemans Association and Pony Club held their last event for the year, with Show Jumping offering a combined encouragement and competitive ring with heights from 30cm to 80cm.
The weather couldn’t have been more perfect, or the relaxed atmosphere at the event.
There was a great turnout of riders from our own club plus riders came from as far away as Busselton, Dunsborough and Collie.
Everyone had a great day with lots of success for some of the Margaret River Pony Clubbers and some exciting rounds in the higher rounds from visiting riders.
It was an event that captured the wide range of ages that are able participate in the sport, with the youngest rider aged just 7 and the oldest over 60 years of age.
This was reflected in the horses too, with a young horse of only 4 at it’s very first showjumping event, to the experienced and trusty been-there-done-that-20 year old.
Pictured are Club members Peta White (aged 60+!) riding Moonstone Diva in her 80cm round and Samara Jackman (aged 11) on Max clearing the Bendigo Bank jump which celebrates the Augusta Bendigo Community Bank’s donation to the Margaret River Riding for Disabled Centre which shares the Pony Club grounds.
