A group formed to campaign for housing justice in Augusta-Margaret River will hold a public meeting next week, where ‘Just Home’ will be formally incorporated as a legally recognised organisation.
Organiser Naomi Godden said all members of the community were welcome to attend the meeting to learn more about the group or become members if they wish.
“The group was developed by community members, some of whom have experience of homelessness and housing stress,” Ms Godden said.
“We invite community members to join us to help address this important social justice issue in our community.”
In the past two years, the group has developed a 10 year action plan in partnership with community members, launched a weekly breakfast club, and has secured funding for a Housing Advocacy Officer to be based at the Community Centre.
The meeting will be held on Monday February 27 from 6.30-8pm at the Community Centre Chapel.
