Ever wondered how those environmentally friendly, sustainable, creative and visually stunning strawbale homes are built?
Interested members of the public are invited to attend a special straw bale construction workshop with local expert Wally Douglas this Saturday in Witchcliffe.
From 9am on Saturday February 25, participants can take a tour of an existing straw bale home and outbuildings, learn how a wall is made and try their hand at the technique themselves.
Mr Douglas, who has been involved in straw bale construction for nearly 30 years said people were consistently surprised at how quickly a strawbale wall took shape.
“It happens very fast, and honestly it is so easy for almost anyone to do – come along and see for yourself!”
Participants need to wear suitable shoes and clothing which may get dirty during the workshop.
Places are limited, to register for the workshop call or text Wally on 0407 199 790.
