Polling stations in the Margaret River region allowed voters to enjoy a stunning Saturday morning in the South West as they waited patiently to cast their ballot in the WA State election.
Voters in both the Warren-Blackwood and Vasse electorates had their names checked off by electoral commission staff as the aroma of barbecued onions and so-called ‘democracy sausages’ drifted across the polling stations.
Candidates were nowhere to be seen by midday despite the strong turnout, with the majority of parties in both electorates focusing their energies on the northern end of the Capes and east towards Denmark and Walpole.
