Following the production process from cocoa bean to chocolate bar has been a very popular topic of study taken on by the Year 2 students at Margaret River Independent School.
On a special excursion to Gabriel Chocolate and the Margaret River Chocolate Company on Tuesday, students learned all about the process of making chocolate and the effort that goes into producing some of their favourite treats.
An opportunity to taste some of the chocolate was, as expected, eagerly accepted by the children.
Teacher Kate Appleton said the excursion was part of the class’s science investigation module, “Watching Things Grow.”
“We have also been reading Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in literacy and we are looking forward to making our own chocolate,” Ms Appleton said.
