A fundraiser for the new Margaret River skate park upgrades will be held this Friday, with an emphasis on welcoming girls and women to the sport. Margaret River Skate School’s Ness Moore said the evening would be a fun, lighthearted event for skaters of all ages featuring music and games.
“We still need to raise funds to complete the skatepark, and we think it’s an awesome chance for girls to get out there and have a go, whether they have been skating for ages or just new to the sport.”
Ms Moore said women and girls were flocking to skating, particularly in the Margaret River area, and said the addition of the ‘sparkle’ theme would add some glamour to the skate night. “Come along for a relaxed, fun skate and wear something sparkly to show your support for our fantastic facilities,” she said.
Sparkle ‘n' Skate Party is at the Margaret River Skate Park from 5.30pm to 7pm on Friday March 24. A $5 donation is encouraged, with proceeds going to the skate park project. BYO helmets.
