One of Western Australia's $4.2 million Division 1 winning tickets from the weekend has been revealed as belonging to a 10-member syndicate.
The syndicate was created and sold by Vaucluse Newsagency in South Perth and will deliver each member almost $431,000.
One of the syndicate members, a man in his 50s from Bunbury, wasted no time coming forward to claim his prize on Monday.
The self-described 'workhorse', who is in the construction industry, hoped to take some time off for a holiday.
"I've been slogging it out for a long time," he said.
"I'm yet to celebrate but I plan to have a pint or two over dinner. Almost half a million dollars is definitely beer worthy."
The syndicate was one of two WA Division 1 winners in Saturday night's $21 million Superdraw; the second, which remains unclaimed, was sold at Canning Vale Newsagency.
The Double Win Day promotion will 'double' prizes in Divisions 2 to 6 in Monday night's Lotto draw and then again in Wednesday night's Lotto draw.
About one-third of money spent on Lotto tickets supports the community - recently in South Perth the Perth Zoo Docent Association, which provides the zoo with volunteer services, received a $340,000 Lotterywest grant for amenities upgrades.
