Singers in the Margaret River region are being invited to audition for the upcoming cabaret-style show from the Margaret River Theatre Group.
As the group continues with rehearsals for their next pantomime production, Pinocchio opening in April, the auditions for the winter-time cabaret show, ‘We Love Disney’ will secure a cast of performers before the next round of rehearsals begin.
Director Ian Smith said the show would take a similar format to last year’s popular ‘We Love Broadway’ series, which transformed Cowaramup’s Duggan Pavilion into an intimate cocktail venue.
“We had very positive feedback from our first ‘test shows’, and had some incredible performances to boot,” he said.
“We are very much looking forward to discovering some more talented performers at these auditions.”
'We Love Disney’ will see the group perform songs from much-loved Disney films alongside a live band, adapting the musical styles for a contemporary audience.
Amateur and first-time singers as well as seasoned vocalists are encouraged to try out for the shows, which will be held in late June and early July at the Cowaramup venue.
“Singers don’t need to audition with a Disney song, but can choose any song which they feel comfortable performing,” Mr Smith said.
Auditions will be held Tuesday April 4 at Margaret River Community Resource Centre on Tunbridge Street from 6pm to 8pm. Auditions are open to singers aged 14 and up.
