Another week of a successful Country Veterans Event last Monday with over 120 players in the field. The event was won by Jeffrey Pits from Bunbury Golf Club on a count back from Geoffrey Scott from Greenbushes Golf Club.
Trevor Piggott from Harvey played best for third prize. The ‘old’ boys do a great job organising the event together with our great bunch of volunteers that look after the catering so nobody goes home hungry.
There was a small field for Tuesday’s Veterans stableford won by Niall Carey on 23 points. Jon Beales took second and Jim Watson pipped Alan Dale on count back with a score of 19. Megan Booth was in good form in Wednesday’s President’s Trophy, winning the A-grade women’s stableford (35).
Patsy Bedford was close second on 34. Kath Solonec was top woman in the B Grade, just beating Tania Easton on count back, both on 31.
It was a crispy morning on Thursday’s Men’s stableford. The secret score was 38, scored by all top three players: Tony Foy, by Jim Triglone and on third Graeme Payne.
The mixed 9 hole players settled for a PAR event on Friday, won by Jim Taylor (+1) on a count back from Terry Haywood. Jo Pyatt scored best woman and overall third prize (0).
The White Elephant Café’s men’s stableford was won by Mal Bromley (38) with Triglone close second (37), just pipping John Bell on a count back.
