Molloy Islanders Pink Ball day for the men got the Augusta Golf Club off to a good start last Saturday, where a great field dodged the bad weather and saw the teams of three battle it out for the trophies.
The team of Geoff Matthews, Brian Bowden and Graeme Challis saw off the rest with 142 points for the win, closely followed by runners-up Barry Brown, Mike Heslington and George Leonard on 139.
Jim Swarbrick took out the prize for the best pink ball score from runner-up Brian Neal.
Nearest the pins went to Barry Brown, Les Castle, Nick Dornan and Jim Swarbrick.
Sunday saw another good field for the Peter and Helen Reid day, where they played individual mixed stableford in cold but dry conditions.
Graeme Challis put in another fine round of golf to take the win with 38 points on a count back from the other in form player Geoff Matthews, third place went to Eric James with 35 after a count back from fourth placed Barry Brown.
Best gross outside of the place getters was David Reid. Best performing lady was Shirley Swarbrick.
Nearest the pins went to Eric James, Joe Italiano David Reid and Shane Maasikas.
The day was finished off in fine style with Peter and Helens special BBQ to warm everyone up.
The previous weekend saw the Margaret River SportsPower Mixed Foursomes Championship played over 36 holes on the Saturday.
The 2017 Champions after a consistent performance over the two rounds of 84 and 84 (168) were the pairing of Joe Italiano and Dee Harrison, with runners-up Trevor Buller and Norah Johnson on 84 and 86 (170).
Nett winners were Nick Dornan and Gail Marshall with nett140 from runners-up Craig Hadley and Pam Winter 147.
