Registrations are now open for the twelfth annual Rapid Ascent Augusta Adventure Race to be held in the South West town in early November.
Having grown in popularity with professional athletes, dedicated amateurs and fun-loving locals over the history of the event, the race now attracts over 3,000 competitors each year.
Rapid Ascent General Manager Sam Maffett said the Augusta event offered the best of all aspects of adventure racing.
“Our mission is to create races on iconic courses that are both challenging and enjoyable for the go-fast athletes through to weekend warriors who simply love a competitive adventure,” he said.
“We believe the Augusta Adventure Fest offers all this and more.
The event includes a Junior Survivor race, which takes young competitors across 4 kilometres of running and obstacle challenges.
“We love seeing the competitive rivalry, the accomplishment and the pure fun that adventure racing brings to people of all ages and backgrounds,” Mr Maffett said.
“The Junior Survivor is designed especially for children aged up to 13 years of age.
“Every year sees a sell-out field of 900 kids who have an absolute blast as they make their way around the course, which for some is their first race.”
The Augusta Adventure Fest is held in Augusta on Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 November 2017.
