The Shire of Augusta Margaret River is calling for public comment on the replacement or removal of the Margaret River ‘top town’ entry and exit signage.
Members of the public are encouraged to have their say on the future of the signs, which were installed under the SuperTowns program.
According to the Shire, recent discussion on social media around the validity of the signs and the need for an upgrade has led to the online brainstorming session.
Suggestions so far include the request to remove the signs completely, as well as possible entry statements such as ‘Thanks for visiting our piece of paradise’ and ‘Welcome to our biodiversity hot spot - please drive with care’.
Those wishing to put forward their suggestions and slogans for the signs can visit yoursay.amrshire.wa.gov.au/welcome-to-margaret-river/brainstormers/have-your-say to add their voice to the discussion.
