Last Saturday the men played a 4BBB for the Karridale Tavern Trophy, which turned out to be a very close battle with only one point the difference between the top four pairs.
Taking the win and the Shield after a count back on 46 points were Nathan Adams and Graeme Challis from runners up Les Castle and Robin Dunbar Smith, third place after another count back went to George Leonard and Geoff Matthews 45 points, with Brian Bowden and Jim Swarbrick fourth.
Joe Italiano had the best individual points score.
Nearest the pins went to Jim Swarbrick, Terry Hadley, David Reid and Terry Hadley again.
Long Drive went to Graeme Challis and Les Castle.
Sunday was another perfect sunny day where the men again came together for the Les Castle day.
Where Jim Swarbrick saw off the opposition with a great round scoring 41 stableford points to take out the winners prize.
Alec Williams was Jim’s closest challenger on 37 points to take out the runner up place, with Denis Kenworthy third on 34 points after a countback from fourth placed Graeme Challis.
Nearest the pins went to Kim Darragh, Nick Dornan and Jim Swarbrick.
Sponsor Les Castle also posted a very good score of 38 points.
Next Saturday the men play a stableford for the Augusta Hardware day and the Sunday is a mixed Canadian stroke game sponsored by the Augusta Pharmacy.
