With Mandurah’s most famous twins hoping to make it into the House Rules grand final next week, it’s going to take a superhuman effort to make Andrew and Jono’s dream come true.
Luckily for them, Andrew is a little-known superhero.
As revealed by the Mandurah Mail way back in 2012, his alter-ego, Jaffaman, gets his super powers, which were “womanising, good map skills and the illusion of strength”, from drinking an orange and chocolate milk concoction.
Andrew’s first brush with fame came in 2009, when Browne’s ran a competition seeking new milk flavours.
Jaffaman was born to promote the twin’s chocolate and orange flavoured milk concoction, and it almost won him the big prize.
But not quite.
Andrew – or, Jaffaman – came third in the comp, but that didn’t stop Browne’s producing a limited edition Jaffa flavoured milk drink.
Nor did it stop his trusty twin brother Jono getting in on the action.
In the campaign produced by the brothers, Jono played Jaffaman’s nemesis, Darth Soda.
As a reporter at Mandurah Mail, Andrew joked that since the campaign, Jaffaman had “put on a few kilos, grown a beard and only came out at superhero fancy dress parties and for ‘women with superhero fetishes’.”
The House Rules journey has seen the local twins battle it out against five other teams in renovation challenges which have shown their creative sides.
Having made it to the semi finals, the last hurdle the brothers face is winning the overall competition.
Here’s hoping they won’t need their superhero powers to make it through the next couple of weeks in House Rules.
The next elimination is on Sunday night on channel 7.
