For most young students the idea of taking the big leap into high school education can be a daunting one.
Upper Primary students from Margaret River Independent School are preparing to make the transition into secondary school this month.
The five Year 6 students will spend next semester getting ready for the important move to high school and Year 5/6 teacher Matt Outred said the preparation was not about increasing pressure on the children.
“It is about developing strategies for overcoming social and academic challenges, building resilience and switching on critical thinking,” Mr Outred said.
Specially designed ‘leavers’ jumpers are currently being worn by the Year 5/6 class, and a school magazine is in the planning stages.
