Margaret River Independent School student Willow Hardy (10) has been selected in the WA State Surfing team to compete in Nationals in Culburra, New South Wales in November.
Willow competed in the Under 14 State Rounds in Margaret River, Perth and Geraldton, where she achieved second place overall.
The young surfer hails from strong South West wavestock, her grandfather Tony, father Gene and two uncles all capturing State titles during their careers.
“She has shown incredible sportsmanship and resilience during these competitions as well as surfing with maturity and ability well above her years,” said Melissa White of the Independent School.
“Representing the state will be an amazing experience for Willow, and we are all behind her the whole way!”
