Margaret River Falcons V Margaret River Sharks
Junior football returned to Gloucester Park after the school holiday break with the Falcons matched up against the Sharks.
Despite a bitterly cold wind and threat of rain, both teams had a good hit out with the ball being kicked all over the park and some great teamwork on display.
The enthusiastic and supportive crowd added to the atmosphere of what was a great game of football from both sides.
U/13 Margaret River Tigers V Cowaramup Bulls
Throughout this 2017 season, there has been much anticipation of which team would make it to the top of the ladder.
On Saturday morning at the Nippers oval in Margaret River, the ferocious Tigers took on the ‘Bucking Bulls’, with both teams playing their hearts out, and all spectators cheering on the young players from the sidelines.
With just three minutes to go before the third quarter siren sounded, the dominating Tigers were 44 points in the lead, but then the mighty Bulls scored two goals, regaining a bit of control.
The fourth quarter began and the Cowaramup Bulls came out on fire, kicking three goals, suddenly creating a close game.
It was not to be, with the Tigers slamming the door on the Bulls with three quick goals in the last five minutes of the game, with one particularly awesome goal by Harvey Fisher.
The Tigers are now top of the ladder and looking like fierce competition as the season continues with great playing skills, teamwork and sportsmanship.
