The sun is shining and the Margaret River Bowling season will officially commence on Sunday October 1. Grace Fairbrass, club patron and sponsor will be in attendance on the first day to preside over the season opening.
Club President Leith Bussell appealed to anyone who would like to take up bowling to get in touch and talk about taking up the sport.
“We are also able to arrange lessons for those who have never played or would like to improve their skills,” he said.
An open day for new bowlers will be held from 1.30pm on Saturday October 7, where the brand new greens will be open for newcomers to learn to play the game of bowls and to socialise with current club members.
The popular corporate bowls competition will commence on Wednesday November 1, with kick off time at 5.45pm.

A pre-season mixed competition last Friday was won by Yvonne Coffey and Lyn Colmer, with second place to Winston Buckenara and Peter Giralt.
Third place went to Val Wyld, Leith Bussel and Dom Alfonsi.
The winner for Sunday Mens’ “Under and Overs” was David Head.
