An art collection aimed at uncovering what lies beneath the surface will be unveiled at the Margaret River Gallery. The ‘Alter Ego’ series features works created by members of Artzability.
Coordinator Natasha Hill said Busselton artist Lorraine Frost worked for three weeks on creating 'body extensions' out of cardboard and paper. Artists packed costumes and art and headed to Ms Frost’s property.
A group of 40 artists worked with support workers to finalise their looks Ms Hill photographed them against rustic backdrops around the farm. “The results were stunning, so much so that Salli Coppin said that they needed to be seen and that she'd love to display them.”
"The exhibition is so important, it has and will transform perceptions of our artists. We can be witness to their strength, beauty, humility and skill. We are indebted to the Shire for their ongoing support and financial help in putting this together.”
Framed images are on sale from September 29 until October 5 at Margaret River Gallery. Orders for prints are also available.
