CHILDREN from the Margaret River Community Kindergarten braved the wild weather on Monday to learn about animals at the high school farm.
Thirty-two children with parent helpers visited the Margaret River Senior High School where they were shown around by year 10 students Marnie Brewer and Brienne Richards with farm manager Peter Myles.
Children enjoyed seeing pigs, cows, marron, and alpacas, including five-month-old Bambi.
"They couldn’t get over the fact that these are alpacas and not llamas," Brienne said.
They also had a chance to sit in a big tractor and beep the horn while Peter explained what tractors are used for.
Community kindy teachers Peta James and Clare Dallimore said the farm was a great resource for the children, and they would continue to learn about farms in kindy this term.
Clare said many of the children hadn’t been on a bus before, so even the ride there was exciting.
She said the interaction between the kindy children and year 10 students would be beneficial for both ages.
Clare thanked Peter Myles and the high school for the opportunity and their kind participation.
