ABOUT 30 people gathered for the launch of Fire: A collection of stories, poems and visual images hosted by Margaret River Press at the Margaret River Library last Tuesday.
The group enjoyed live readings from contributors including Miriam Lo and Miranda Aitken, who read poems to express their feelings about the 2011 Margaret River bushfire tragedy.
The book was published by Catherine Wood of MRP last year and includes 25 works by Australian and local writers and photographers.
It was officially launched by South West MLC Barry House, who said that the destruction of the bushfires had been heartbreaking, but it was also "heartwarming" to see the community's response.
Fire is available for $28 at Margaret River Tales and the Margaret River Book Shop.
