AUGUSTA-Margaret River football team defeated two teams in the pre-season carnival on the weekend, sending them to play in the final next week at Harvey.
After travelling to Donnybrook, the team put in a hard effort in both 40-minute games against Harvey Bulls and Donnybrook.
In their first game against the Bulls, AMR opened strongly with six goals, five points, and kept the opposition scoreless in the first half.
The second half was more even with the Hawks kicking four goals, three points to the Bulls' three goals, one point.
Final score: AMR 10-8 to Harvey Bulls 3-1.
The second game was against the home team Donnybrook and once again a strong first half saw the Hawks lead with five goals, one point, while Donnybrook failed to score.
Donnybrook came back strongly in the second half, kicking three goals and restricting the Hawks to one goal, three points which at the final siren gave AMR victory.
Final score: AMR 6-10 to Donnybrook 3-0.
