MARGARET River Senior High School students glowed with excitement on Friday night as they dressed in their finest and celebrated the year 12 ball at Saracen Estate.
The theme was Moulin Rouge and they all looked incredibly elegant with many red-carpet-worthy outfits and plenty of sparkle to be seen.
The Belle and Beau of the ball were Tilly Hampton and Eamond Zuvich.
Afterwards, Todd and Karen Giles kindly hosted the large group at their home with all details cared for including security, water and marquees in case the weather turned its taps on.
An incident involving a broken shoe earlier in the week further proved what a community event the ball is, when many locals rushed to help.
Student Kaitlyn O'Connor accidentally snapped the buckle of her chosen shoes a few days before the big night and it was mayhem, her mother Bev said.
Thinking quickly, Bev hopped onto Facebook and asked on the Margaret River Buy and Sell page if anyone might have black or silver high heels in a size 9/10.
She was amazed when 6-8 people contacted her, texting photos and some even inviting her into their homes to look at shoes.
"I'm just thinking, wow," Bev said.
"It was absolutely fantastic."
Kaitlyn ended up wearing shoes brought down by a friend in Perth, and had "the best time".
