A MAN has died after a surfing accident at Margaret River’s Surfers Point.
The 51-year-old man from New South Wales was surfing at the popular break on Wednesday when he allegedly had a collision with a surfboard.
St John Ambulance crew were called to the site just after 11am with reports of a potential gash. It is believed the man may have suffered damage to his femoral artery, which supplies blood to both legs through the groin.
Margaret River Police also attended and travelled with the ambulance to the hospital.
The surfer has since passed away. A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
