Attendees at this month’s Arts Program preview at the Margaret River Cultural Centre were treated to a big screen presentation of things to come at the entertainment precinct, as well as around the region.
Hosted by Arts Margaret River, the preview offered sneak peek viewings of selected theatre shows and special cinema screenings.
Arts Margaret River general manager Andrew Frith said the response from the crowd was promising.
“It was great to hear the reactions and comments especially to the African Circus and Melbourne Ballet Company shows” he said
Mr Frith said the organisation’s Arts Hub membership program was once again a popular purchase for locals, with new members signing up for 2017.
“We’ve had a lot of new people becoming Arts Hub members once they realise that you can purchase up to 4 discounted tickets to every Arts Margaret River show and movie, saving $2 to $8 per ticket, per show.
“Of course most people don’t just join for the discounted tickets, they believe that we are providing a valuable community service and want to contribute to our organisation,” Mr Frith said.
New Arts Hub member Carrie McDonnell of Cowaramup said she was planning to take her children to live shows now that she was a subscriber.
“I’ve been meaning to join for ages and now that my kids are at a suitable age, I want to introduce them to live theatre shows,” Ms McDonnell said.
“I’ve just purchased tickets to The Listies and Cirque Africa shows and theyare very excited about it.
“We are really lucky to have the opportunity to attend these types of shows in Margaret River.”
Arts Hub Membership runs from January to December and is $44 standard, $28 concession or $165 corporate per year.
In addition to discounted tickets, members also receive advance notification of upcoming events via a monthly Artitude newsletter as well as discounts at seven local businesses on presentation of their Arts Hub membership card.
Memberships can be completed online at artsmargaretriver.com, by calling Arts Margaret River on 9758 7316 or by dropping in to the Cultural Centre Monday to Friday 10am to 4pm.
