Nature Conservation Margaret River Region and the Shire of Augusta Margaret River will host a workshop as a follow up to the 2017 Great Australian Cocky Count.
The count relies on members of the public to provide essential data towards the protection of the threatened black cockatoo species.
Tegan Douglas from Birdlife Australia will present on the available findings from this year’s count and talk about the next steps. Ms Douglas’ presentation will also provide an insight into black cockatoo breeding habits and requirements and surveying for nesting sites.
Those interested in learning more about the iconic Western Australian bird and the protection of the black cockatoo are invited to attend the workshop.
The workshop will be held at the Margaret River Council Chambers on Thursday June 22, from 5.30pm to 7.00pm
