A 3-1 loss to Wests sees Margaret River drop to third place on the ladder with just two games left before the finals start.
An early field goal from Ben Van-Overdijk who received a short pass from Joseph Dennis, gave Margaret River the early lead.
However, just a few minutes later Wests capitalised on a defensive error to draw level and then later converted a penalty corner after a sustained period of attack to go into the half-time break with a 2-1 lead.
The second half saw Wests add to their lead with a field goal which again resulted from a defensive error.
From that point onwards Wests defended well and continually shut down any attacking moves from Margaret River who, as a team, just didn’t play that well.
Best players were listed as Matt Bycroft, Brad Yates and Steven Noakes.
Next week’s game is against Countrys at 6:00pm on Saturday.
