South West MP Colin Tincknell asked parliament last week whether the state government would appeal a State Administration Tribunal decision which gave the green light for a 24-hour convenience store to be built in Dunsborough’s town centre.
Last month, SAT overturned a decision by the Southern Joint Development Assessment Panel which had rejected previous applications from Puma Energy and developers DCSC Pty Ltd.
In parliament, Mr Tincknell asked the Environment Minister Stephen Dawson if he agreed – that all people would agree – a Puma outlet which sold fuel would in deed be a petrol station not just a convenience store.
The application which went before SAT was for a convenience store, rather than a service station - only the convenience store plan featured a six-bay petrol station.
Mr Dawson replied that the government was currently reviewing the SAT decision.
